This Service is for individuals who have a diagnosis of dementia up to and including the age of 65. We offer:

  • Information and advice
  • Family outreach support
  • Community and home support
  • Carer support and education
  • 4 day clubs for younger people in the early, moderate and later stages of dementia
  • Monthly 'Oasis' social club for carers and younger people with dementia
  • A holiday for younger people with dementia and their carers
  • Day Club - Answer House, West Lothian (fortnightly)
  • Polish Befriending for Polish people of all ages
  • Meeting Place for people with dementia and carers of all ages
    - 1st, 3rd & 5th Saturday of each month, Lifecare Centre, Stockbridge
    - 2nd & 4th Saturday of each month, Eric Liddell Centre Cafe, Morningside
    (All 12-3pm, Lucia Main, Organiser)
  • Day opportunities for people in the early stages of dementia
  • Dementia Cafe (St Andrews Court, Bield Housing, Uphall, 4th Tuesday of month, 11am-2pm)
  • Dementia Cafe (Answer House, Whitburn, 2nd Tuesday of month, 12-3.15pm)
  • West Lothian Self Management Project
 

Tea and a biscuitThe Meeting Place

A Meeting Place for people with dementia and their carers of all ages. Drop in and join us for information, support, and social activities. On alternate Saturdays at the Lifecare Centre, Stockbridge and Eric Liddell Centre, Morningside.

Piano Player needed

Can you play the piano? Do you have 2 hours to spare once a month on the last Thursday of the month. We are looking for someone to play the piano for our choir and you might be the very person.

Alzheimer Scotland’s Community Choir

Rehearsals are held at The Salvation Army Hall in Gorgie Road Edinburgh.

If you are interested in singing, you are a person with dementia, a carer or you are interested in supporting people with dementia it would be great to see you.
