Dementia Resource Worker can provide, advice, information, education and support to carers of people with dementia. The Service aims to support the families, relatives and friends of people with dementia at any stage of the illness.

Carers' support from Alzheimer Scotland is free and offers advice, information and emotional and practical support through:

  • telephone contact
  • home visits
  • carers groups
  • information leaflets and books
  • education courses and events
  • information about local services and resources
  • a regular newsletter and library lending service
  • involvement

Carers Groups offer mutual support and sharing of information in a confidential setting. Groups include daughters, spouses/partners and couples.

  • Drop-in centres (Panbride Church Hall, Arbroath Road, Carnoustie, Friday 11am-2pm and Forfar Farmington, Market Muir, Forfar, Wednesday 2-4pm)
  • Outreach surgeries
  • Music Cafe singing group (weekly, The Choir Room, East & Old Parish Church, High Street, Forfar).

To celebrate World Alzheimer’s Day, Angus Services held a very successful Memory Walk round Forfar Loch.
