First winner of Jim Jackson Essay Prize announced

In September 2011, Alzheimer Scotland officially launched its Dementia Research Centre, based within (and in partnership with) The University of Edinburgh. In addition, the charity also launched the Jim Jackson Essay Prize, which commemorates the late Jim Jackson OBE, former Chief Executive of Alzheimer Scotland, who provided the vision for the founding of the Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Research Centre.

We are delighted to announce that Liana Romanuik is the well deserved winner of the Jim Jackson Essay Prize.  John Starr, Director of the Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Research Centre and Henry Simmons, Chief Executive of Alzheimer Scotland presented the £500 prize to Liana at Alzheimer Scotland’s headquarters in Edinburgh. We would like to thank to Jim’s widow Jennie and their daughter Fiona for coming along to meet Liana.
